The microphone
VocalMaxx uses the microphone only during a measurement or an exercise, and only after you have explicitly allowed it. The sound is processed on your device to work out a frequency, then discarded. It is never recorded to a file, never uploaded, never shared.
What is stored, and where
Only numbers are kept — your median frequency, your range, your stability and the date — together with your answers to the personalisation questions. They are stored locally on your iPhone and disappear if you delete the app.
Usage measurement
VocalMaxx sends usage events to TelemetryDeck to understand screen visits, completed sessions and purchase flows. Events include a random installation identifier hashed with SHA-256, a session identifier, app version, language, region and days since installation. Purchase events can include the selected product, trial duration, outcome, price and currency. These identifiers are pseudonymous; they are not described as irreversibly anonymous. The events contain no audio or voice measurements and are not used for advertising or tracking across apps and websites.
No usage event ever carries a voice measurement — not even a rounded one. If you choose to share a result, the image and link you select are sent to the destination you choose using the iOS share sheet.
No advertising
VocalMaxx contains no advertising SDK. The app does not ask for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency), because usage measurement is not used for tracking across apps and websites.
Purchases
Subscriptions and the one-time purchase are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We never see or receive your payment information. Management and cancellation happen in your Apple Account. We also use RevenueCat to observe purchases and measure sales. Its SDK receives a pseudonymous identifier and App Store transaction data. It receives no audio or voice measurements.
Health
VocalMaxx is a voice training tool. It is not a medical device: it does not diagnose or treat any voice disorder, and it promises no result.
Children
VocalMaxx is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no data concerning them.
Your rights
You can erase readings stored locally using Settings › Erase my data, or by deleting the app. Deleting the app does not automatically delete records already processed by usage and purchase services. For requests about access, correction or deletion of those records, contact us at the address below.
